20's Plenty for Chichester wants 20mph road speeds where people live, without traffic calming
Campaigning has included a petition, speaking at a City Council meeting of the Community Affairs Committee and resident association meetings, letters to the press and councillors, clipboard campaigning at "In Town without My Car Day" event. We are bidding for funding. We held a public meeting on Wednesday 16th March 2011. We would urge you to write to letters@chiobserver.co.uk with your views on speed reduction.
20's Plenty was adopted by a meeting of the full City Council on Wednesday 1st December. The next stage is persuading West Sussex County Council to fund it. Plus a hearts and minds education campaign in Chichester. We are leading this with organising our Why 20's Plenty for Chichester pdf leaflet to go into 2,500 school book bags.
